A quick, simple and neutral smoky eyes featuring the Guerlain La Sélection Couleur Makeup Palette (reviewed here) today and hello to the new hair style! I am also testing out a sample of Dior Capture Totale Sérum de Teint Foundation – shall gather my thoughts of this foundation for a quick review, so far, I am liking it.
I find the application method for this set of smoky eyes flatters many eye shapes and it’s easy and fast to achieve. Great start for a beginner. I love this method and once you have mastered this technique, you can use any other colours to create all sorts of looks.
Nail colour by Chanel - 533 April.
For face: I applied a layer of Diorsnow UV Shield BB Creme White Reveal UV Protection SPF 50 PA+++ as a base, followed by Dior Capture Totale Sérum de Teint SPF 15. Before I set my foundation with Diorskin NUDE Natural Glow Fresh Powder Makeup, I concealed my spots and dark circles with Clé de Peau BEAUTÉ Concealer.
For eyes: Prepped my lids with Laura Mercier Satinée Créme Eye Colour in Pink Chiffon and went in with the shimmery champagne from Guerlain La Sélection Couleur Makeup Palette all over the lids. I applied a black eyeliner along my upper lash line and blend with the metallic brown. Apply more metallic brown and blend upwards, towards the crease. Apply the lightest shade, iridescent beige under the brow bones and blend the two shades (iridescent beige and metallic brown) with the matte mid-tone beige.
Apply a black eyeliner 3/4 along the lower lash line and blend with the metallic brown. Soften the edges of metallic brown with the matte mid-tone beige. Apply some mascara and false eyelashes.
For cheeks & lips: Very natural and subtle cheeks. I went for Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush in Habanera – applied it as a contour and blend the colour towards the apples of my cheeks. I also applied Guerlain Cruel Gardenia Météorites along the high points of my cheeks. I went for a nude lip for this look and the colour is from Guerlain La Sélection Couleur Makeup Palette as well.
