welcome to joey’space

my name is Joey Chong and I am born on the 21st April 1984… born and brought up in Singapore… I was sent to a boarding school, Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar near Malaysia when I was 13 and furthered my studies at University of Central England, Birmingham Institute of Art and Design in United Kingdom… was there till I completed my BA(HONS) Interior Design in year 2005… I am currently taking up my Master of Art in Spatial Design at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore…

being away from home for about 10 years isn’t easy… but I have had a wonderful experience “out there”… I have learnt to be independent, confident and responsible throughout this journey!!! I also made lots of friends around the world… I am very greatful I had this opportunity studying abroad!!!

as you might have noticed, i have seven broad categories namely developing, exploring, interesting, locating, reflecting, studying and understanding…

just to narrow down the “broadness” of these categories, i have done this…

• developing consists of how i have developed and matured myself through my studying days and the fun i have shared with my fellow mates of studio 505…
• exploring is where i will post all topics i am exploring with… it could be materials, shadows or colours…
• interesting is of course for interesting things…
• locating places around which can be explored in greater details…
• reflecting my thoughts… a place whereby i can pen down my own “little” voice…
• studying various types of design perspectives and practices…
• understanding consists of a range of books i have collected so far and how these books have helped me progress…
