Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow In 35 Rives

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in 35 Rives holds 1.2g of product, made in France and retails for S$87. I believe this product is available at all Chanel counters island-wide now and it’s an limited edition item released together with the Fleur de Lotus Makeup Collection For Spring 2012.

Like Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in 87 Riviére (reviewed here), this product is from an Asian exclusive collection, much like the Tourbillions D’éclat de Chanel Makeup Collection released last year. I think these items will roll out at specific Chanel outlets internationally or online in a couple of months.

I have included swatches of 35 Rives and several other Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadows in this post so you can have a better idea of where 35 Rives stands.

First, let’s have a look at 35 Rives in the series of pictures below – taken under natural sunlight without flash. This new quad consists of a frosty beige, an almost matte white with sparkles, a satiny mid-tone brown and a deep warm brown with golden shimmer. A very comprehensive neutral palette where all colours compliment each other perfectly. Like many other neutral eye palettes, this quad can take you from day to night without any problems.

I pulled out a few other Chanel quads which I think compares well with 35 Rives. Here, we have 81 Beiges Velours, 34 Éclosion and 16 Kaska Beige. I have also swatched them separately so you can have a larger and clearer picture of the shades within.

First up for comparison, 81 Beiges Velours is one of my favourite Chanel quads – the shades wear beautifully on my skin tone, some sort of like a “no makeup” makeup look for the eyes. This palette is very muted, tone-on-tone and natural – consists of a translucent neutral mink, pale yellow-toned beige, warm mid-town brown and a pale coral beige. Together, the shades create a set of very healthy looking eyes.

34 Éclosion is one of the latest Chanel quads for Spring 2012. Initially, I was rather indecisive about getting this palette but the warm brown-toned burgundy literally took my breath away – I must have it. In this quad, you will find a frosty champagne, semi-sheer glittery beige, a warm brown-toned burgundy and a muted beige.

It’s an overall very subtle and understated palette with a burst of colour.

And lastly, 18 Kaska Beige, another one of my favourite neutral palette – consists of a pale satin beige, almost matte brown, a satin caramel and a gorgeous deep brown with multi-coloured shimmer.

amongst the 4 quads found in this post, I find this the most classic and timeless. The shades are neither too shimmery nor boring, neither too over-powdering nor muted. I believe the colours in this quad will work wonders on most skin tones.

None of the colours amongst this 4 quads are exactly the same. However, the beige from 35 Rives and 34 Éclosion are quite similar and the mid-tone brown from 35 Rives is quite close to the one in 81 Beiges Velours. Each shade has its own character and a different role in each palette. They are all beautiful in their own ways.

Overall, without a doubt, I absolutely love the new Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in 35 Rives.

Thank you for reading.
